Good morning class!
Congrats to everyone for doing such a great job transitioning to distance learning over the past couple of days. Most of you seem to be getting comfortable following the Google Slideshows and putting your answers in the Google Docs. Remember, you don't need to turn in your Docs until Friday. I can see what you've been up to without you turning them in, and last night I wrote replies to those of you who wrote your letters to me yesterday. (The replies are in your Docs).
Please carry on with the Math and Language in the Slideshows today. For anyone looking for something extra, the monthly Caribou Math Contest is happening today and tomorrow (April 8 and 9). This is totally optional - I'm not requiring anyone to do it, but I imagine a few of you might be looking for an extra challenge.
I will send an email this morning with your Caribou codes. To take part in the challenge, go to https://cariboutests.com/ and click on "Start the Contest." Grade 7s, remember that your first and last names are reversed. Important: if you choose to do the Caribou contest, you must not use a calculator or get help from anyone!
A few other things:
French: Madame Banwell has uploaded assignments to her Google Classroom. Please make sure you check your email and check her Classroom as well.
IXL: I know I haven't assigned any work on IXL yet (there will be some tomorrow), but some students have been exploring the site and trying it out. Here are our stats so far. How many questions do you think we can answer as a class over the next month? 10,000? 25,000? Can anyone knock Logan L. off the top of the leaderboard?
That's all for now everyone. Have a great day and make sure you get outside!
